Treatment with own fat
Youthful fullness and elasticity thanks to the rejuvenating power of fat cells
Fresh, radiant skin is no coincidence — it is the result of healthy regeneration.
Treatment with own fat (autologous fat) not only makes it possible to permanently compensate for signs of aging on the face caused by loss of volume and elasticity of the tissue in a natural way, but also to renew the skin from within.
As we age, our tissue and skin change. This natural process can be exacerbated by unfavorable living conditions and habits such as nicotine consumption, stress, lack of sleep, and unhealthy eating. This results in a progressive loss of youthful fullness and elasticity of the tissue: sunken cheeks, temples, and nasolabial folds, as well as increased tear troughs, make the face appear tired and worn out.
Through lipotransfer (injection with autologous fat), in which a small amount of fat is removed from a suitable area of the body such as the abdomen or thighs using liposuction, the missing volume can be restored and such signs of aging can be effectively and permanently reduced. The advantage of autologous fat injection is that it uses the body’s own substance, 50 to 70 percent of which remains permanently in place as living tissue and is not broken down again. The treatment results are permanent. The treatment can be repeated without any problems if necessary.
With what is known as nanofat needling, we use the body’s own fat tissue to regenerate the skin from within. Instead of whole fat cells, only their valuable components, such as autologous exosomes (biological messenger substances), are introduced into the skin using medical needling to specifically stimulate cells to repair and regenerate. The result: visibly smoother, firmer skin with a natural glow—without any artificial additives.
Lipofilling compensates for volume loss, while nanofat needling specifically improves skin quality—for an all-round rejuvenating effect.

Make an appointment nowWho is autologous fat injection suitable for?
Treatment with autologous fat is particularly suitable for you if you want to restore a youthful, natural fullness to your facial contours. You benefit from the low-risk treatment, which uses only your own body’s material. In addition, a whole range of other positive effects of autologous fat transplantation can be utilized.
The following problems can be improved:
- Lack of volume in the temples, cheeks, cheekbone region, nasolabial folds, and tear troughs
- Fine lines around the eyes and dark circles under the eyes
- Wrinkles around the mouth (smoker’s lines)
- Scars, scalds, and burns
How does treatment with autologous fat work?
The principle was developed by plastic surgeon Sydney Coleman back in 1986. Fat tissue is removed without leaving any scars from a suitable area of the body, e.g., the abdomen, hips, or thighs, using liposuction, and then sterilized.
The removed fat tissue is rich in stem cells and natural growth factors, which are transplanted with the living fat cells and can unfold their tissue-improving effect on the spot. The removed fat is then injected into the desired area, such as the cheeks, using fine cannulas. The transplantation of autologous fat is tailored to your individual needs and is performed under local anesthesia, twilight sleep, or, if desired, general anesthesia.
After the treatment, tissue swelling and minor bruising occur. These usually subside within 14 days.
What are the advantages of autologous fat treatment?
Autologous fat can be used in many ways to build volume and correct scars. The advantage over hyaluronic acid or other fillers is that the majority of autologous fat (between 50 and 70 percent) is not broken down by the body, leading to long-lasting and very natural results.
What are the possible complications?
In the hands of a qualified plastic and aesthetic surgeon, treatment with autologous fat is very safe and has been an established and well-researched procedure for many years. Swelling and slight bruising after the treatment are normal reactions to the procedure and disappear within a short time. We would be happy to advise you personally at our private clinic in Düsseldorf and discuss the method in detail, including all the advantages and disadvantages.
How long do the results of autologous fat injection last?
The results achieved with lipotransfer are permanent. Living fat cells are transplanted and grow in the tissue into which they are introduced. The extent of the volume gain is limited only by the proportion of fat cells that do not grow. As a rule, a survival rate of 50 to 70 percent of fat cells can be assumed.
Can the treatment be combined with other methods or can autologous fat injection be repeated?
Facial rejuvenation using autologous fat transfer can be combined excellently with other measures such as a facelift, neck lift, or upper and lower eyelid lifts. Lipotransfer can also be repeated without difficulty, even multiple times if desired.
How does nanofat needling work?
1. Harvesting of autologous fat: The fat cells are gently removed from an inconspicuous area of the body using micro-liposuction.
2. Processing: The fat is processed into valuable, fine nanoparticles and exosomes.
3. Microneedling: The nanofat is evenly worked into the skin using fine needles.
4. Regeneration: The growth factors contained in the fat stimulate cells to repair and regenerate.
What are autologous exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny “messenger substances” of the cells. They transport regenerative signals and growth factors that stimulate skin cells to renew themselves. Since they come from your own body, they are particularly well tolerated.
What are the advantages over conventional treatments?
Needling with autologous fat is natural and sustainable: it leads to a long-term improvement in skin structure. The procedure is minimally invasive and does not require a scalpel or leave scars. This makes it not only gentle, but also safe.
Who is nanofat needling suitable for?
Nanofat needling is ideal for gently and naturally reducing the appearance of the first signs of skin aging (fine lines, loss of elasticity), dull, tired skin, scars, or uneven skin texture, or for those who want natural regeneration without foreign materials.
How long does the effect last?
Collagen production is stimulated for months — many patients report a fresh complexion that lasts for years.
Why combine it with autologous fat transfer?
Lipofilling compensates for volume loss, while nanofat needling specifically improves skin quality — for an all-round rejuvenating effect.
How much does autologous fat injection for facial rejuvenation or nanofat needling cost?
The cost of treatment can vary depending on the extent of the procedure and the type of anesthesia used. We would be happy to advise you in detail during a personal consultation, during which we will create the ideal treatment plan for you.
