Plus-minus surgery – breast augmentation & breast reduction in one procedure
For harmonious, stable breasts – tailored to your individual needs
Sometimes, the path to a beautiful, balanced breast shape is not just enlargement or reduction- but both at the same time. Plus-minus surgery combines implants (plus) for more volume with tissue reduction (minus) for a harmonious, lasting shape.
This procedure can be particularly useful if:
- There is too much skin and tissue that should be removed for a firm shape
- There are asymmetries where one breast is reduced and the other enlarged
- A permanently full neckline with long-term shape stability is desired
- Diseases of the breast tissue necessitate more extensive tissue removal

Make an appointment nowHow the plus-minus surgery works
1. “Plus” – breast augmentation
Implants are placed to enhance volume and ensure long-term shape stability – typically via an incision in the breast fold, which is already required for the lift or reduction.
2. “Minus” – Breast reduction with lift
Excess tissue is removed using techniques such as the T-incision or vertical method. If medically indicated, almost complete removal of the glandular tissue may also be performed.
3. Shape adjustment & Symmetry
Both breasts are precisely matched in shape and size.
4. Scar design
The incisions are placed as inconspicuously as possible so that the scars remain discreet.
Additional medical benefits:
Studies show that breast reduction can reduce the risk of breast cancer in women with dense breast tissue.
What you should consider before the procedure
- A recent gynecological breast cancer screening is important
- Discuss your wishes and expectations in a detailed consultation
- Surgery should only be performed by experienced specialists in plastic and aesthetic surgery
Can the surgery reduce my risk of breast cancer?
Yes, especially in cases of dense breast tissue, a reduction can statistically lower the risk.
How long is the recovery time?
You can usually return to work after one week and resume sports activities after six weeks.
Are both breasts treated equally?
Not always – each breast is treated individually depending on the initial situation.
Will scars remain visible?
Scars are placed so that they are as inconspicuous as possible and fade over time.
We will answer your questions in detail during a non-binding initial consultation.
