Phenol peel

Profound skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction without surgery

Peels have become an indispensable part of cosmetics because their diversity offers completely individual treatment options. Medical peeling with phenol is the most intensive of all chemical peels and is therefore particularly suitable for the treatment of deep skin wrinkles, severe pigmentation disorders, acne scars, or sun-damaged skin.

A superficial to medium-depth phenol peel offers you a significant improvement in keratinization disorders, age spots, and pigmentation spots on the skin and contributes to a significantly fresher, finer, and improved complexion. Since a deep phenol peel also reaches the lowest skin structures, the result can be an impressive lifting effect that makes you look several years younger. A frequently observed positive side effect of a phenol peel is that excessively dry or oily skin can be permanently improved.

Questions
What is a phenol peel?

Unlike fruit acid peels, which only reach the upper layer of skin, a phenol peel is a deep peel that aims to renew the elastic and collagen fibers in all layers of the skin. We offer our patients a variety of

Intensities of a phenol peel that take into account your individual wishes regarding the depth of the peel.

As a general rule, the deeper the peel, the more significant the skin tightening, which is similar to a surgical lift, and the more profound and comprehensive the renewal and structural rejuvenation of the facial skin, which lasts for many years. Your facial expressions and individual facial features remain completely intact.

Who are deep chemical phenol peels suitable for?

If age-related loss of function in the elastic fibers of the facial skin has led to medium-depth and deep wrinkles, this treatment method can achieve significant smoothing.

Skin keratinization disorders, but also scars, especially acne scars, as well as severe pigmentation disorders and even some precursors of skin cancer can be treated excellently with a phenol peel. If the aim is simply to improve the freshness and fineness of the skin’s appearance, a superficial phenol peel can be extremely effective.

Who is this treatment not suitable for?

A phenol peel is not recommended for people with dark skin, as this treatment can cause permanent skin lightening. We also advise against this deep peel for people with inflammatory skin rashes, impaired heart, liver, or kidney function, or diabetes requiring insulin treatment.

How much downtime should I expect?

With a superficial to medium-depth phenol peel, the downtime is a few days to a maximum of one week due to significant redness and flaking of the skin.

Unlike other peels, the skin requires an even longer healing phase after a deep phenol peel. Therefore, after treatment with a deep peel, you should expect to be socially presentable again after two weeks at the earliest.

What do I need to bear in mind before and after the treatment?

A deep phenol peel requires several weeks of preparation to get your skin ready for the upcoming renewal. We will provide you with a care package and detailed instructions (see below) on how to use our care products to achieve perfect results. A preparation phase can also be beneficial for superficial to medium-depth peels. We will advise you in detail during a preliminary consultation.

The procedure is performed smoothly on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to return home the same day. Anesthesia is unnecessary, even for deep peels. Only in case of a deep phenol peel, a powder mask is applied to protect the skin from infection and scab formation, which is removed after 6 days in our clinic. You continue with further skin care at home according to our instructions. This is not necessary for superficial to medium-depth peels. In this case, it is sufficient to use the care products we provide according to our instructions.

After a deep phenol peel, your skin will be extremely sensitive to sunlight, similar to that of a newborn baby. You should therefore avoid exposing yourself to direct sunlight without protection for four months after the treatment. Careful sun protection and balanced skin care are therefore always part of a phenol peel. We will of course provide you with the necessary products.

Treatment procedure for a deep peel with phenol

With our innovative Skin Tech deep peel, your treated skin will be completely renewed down to the layers of the dermis. Wrinkles, calluses, and pigmentation disorders will be permanently removed, and your skin will take on a completely new radiance. To ensure that we achieve the best possible results for you, we strongly recommend that you observe a few important points:

General:
Never remove the powder or adhesive bandages we have applied yourself. Carefully avoid contact with water on the areas covered with powder. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time!

4 weeks before a phenol peel:
Treatment with botulinum toxin and optimization of facial volume using fillers creates the ideal basis for perfect peeling results. We will advise you in detail on this. Use Blending Bleaching and Melablock HSP SPF 50+ every morning and Cordes VAS cream mixed with Blending Bleaching every evening to prepare your skin perfectly for the upcoming deep renewal. Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds must be avoided during this period.

3 days before the phenopeeling:
Start taking Aciclovir 400 mg tablets twice daily.

On the day of the phenol peel:
Drink an additional bottle of water throughout the day. Take 1 tablet of Ibuhexal 600 mg one hour before the peel. Please arrive at your appointment with all makeup removed. Wear comfortable clothing (jogging suit) and ideally a sweater/top with a zipper so that you do not have to pull it over your head when taking it off.

The first 24 hours:
Take the pain medication we have prescribed every 4-6 hours for the first 24 hours, starting 2 hours after the treatment. Avoid contact with water. On the first night, you may gently cool your face or the treated areas with cooling pads. The pulsating hot and burning sensation in the treated areas will subside within 24 hours. If you have any questions, please contact us. Continue to take the herpes protection (aciclovir 400 mg tablets twice daily) as prescribed for three days after the peel.

After the first day following treatment with phenol:
We check the progress 24 hours after the peel. Then, at home, carefully apply the powder we have provided to the areas that are weeping or only lightly covered with powder using a compress. Please do not use your bare fingers (risk of infection!), only the compresses or a fresh cotton swab. Make sure that there are no areas without powder.

Days 2-6:
Carefully apply Vaseline to the edges of the treated areas yourself. Carefully powder all areas that are weeping or have little powder on them. Do not allow the treated areas to come into contact with water! We will check the progress again on day 3 if necessary.

Day 6 after the phenol peel:
We will see you at our clinic to remove the powder mask. Afterwards, apply a thin layer of Vaseline daily to the areas that are still covered with scabs until they fall off spontaneously. Never remove scabs yourself by pulling them off! This can cause injuries and scars!

Care in the first 2-4 weeks after removal of the powder mask:
Clean the skin with the special Skin Tech Cleanser. Apply IPLase Mask 3 times a day, if necessary up to 4 weeks after the peel, depending on the redness of the skin. Carefully apply Melablock HSP SPF 50+ at least 2-3 times a day (morning, noon, afternoon). Avoid strong sunlight at all costs!

Care in the weeks and months following a phenol peel:
Clean the skin with the special Skin Tech Cleanser. Apply Blendig Bleaching twice a day. Carefully apply Melablock HSP SPF 50+ at least 2-3 times a day (morning, noon, afternoon). In addition, a restorative care cream (e.g., Nutritive Cream ACE) should be used daily. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Finally, here is some good advice for long-lasting, perfect results

Continue to avoid strong sunlight! Please remember that your skin has completely renewed itself and is as sensitive as a baby’s skin! Perfect care should now be standard practice! If you continue to experience severe redness, please contact us!

We look forward to seeing your skin completely renewed!
