Despite postnatal exercises, a healthy and balanced diet, and lots of exercise, sometimes those extra pounds don’t want to go away after pregnancy, the stomach and breasts are no longer as firm as before, and other parts of the body may also have changed.

Requirements include:

Nine months after breastfeeding. After this time, the mammary glands have regenerated and milk production has stopped. The shape and texture of the breasts can then be assessed.

• If possible, family planning should be complete.
• A normal body weight. We do not mind a few extra pounds in order to offer you a lasting and predictable result. However, any planned weight loss of more than 5 kg should be complete and your target weight should have been maintained for at least 6 months.
• Support from family and friends in the period after treatment, so that you do not have to take care of yourself and your child or children on your own.

You should be in good physical condition before the procedure. Nicotine consumption should be reduced to a minimum until the wound has healed; it is better to give it up completely from now on.
Please also inform our surgeons about any other medical conditions you may have and any medications you are taking.

In our opinion, the likelihood of surgical complications occurring is significantly increased if you do not seek treatment from a plastic and aesthetic surgeon who is qualified and experienced, having completed six years of specialist training. If the surgery is performed by experienced plastic surgeons, complications cannot be ruled out, but they are less common and usually insignificant in terms of achieving a lasting good result.

Every surgical procedure carries an increased risk of thrombosis. We therefore recommend thrombosis prophylaxis for 5 days after your mommy makeover. Infections of the wound area are very rare. As with any surgery, bruising and swelling may occur, but these usually heal on their own. Postoperative bleeding is a rare complication and must be treated surgically.

After the surgery, you will experience mild to moderate pain in the wound area for the first few days. This phase can be easily managed with pain-relieving medication. You will wear a compression garment for approximately 6 weeks and should avoid sports and strenuous physical activity until then. Depending on the physical strain, you can resume your normal daily activities after a few days.
