Hyaluronic acid treatment and wrinkle injections
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our body that is responsible for moisture retention and thus for firm skin. Over time, the natural hyaluronic acid content in our body decreases. As a result of the normal aging process, the face loses its natural hyaluronic acid reserves in the tissue and, as a result, the skin loses its elasticity and resilience.
The first signs of this loss of volume are small wrinkles around the eyes, nose, and lips (known as crow’s feet, frown lines, tear troughs, lip wrinkles, or nasolabial folds). Injections of natural hyaluronic acid restore the skin’s volume and elasticity, giving it a more youthful appearance – for both men and women alike.

Make an appointment nowHow does hyaluronic acid work?
The effect of hyaluronic acid lies in its own lifting capacity (“filler”) and its enormous water-binding capacity. A single molecule is capable of binding six times its own weight in water. When used as a “filler,” this creates a plumping effect. The skin regains its youthful appearance and becomes firm and smooth. At the same time, it gains elasticity.
Who is hyaluronic acid treatment suitable for?
Over the course of our lives, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our bodies continuously decreases due to the natural aging process. This begins as early as age 25 and continues steadily, so that by age 60, only 10 percent of the body’s original hyaluronic acid content remains.
The connective tissue and skin lose volume, causing the facial structures to lose their elasticity and wrinkles to form. From around the age of 40, wrinkles in the facial area become much more visible, and the desire for smoother skin increases.
Hyaluronic acid treatment is suitable for you if you want skin rejuvenation without surgery and scarring. In addition, modern three-dimensional volume compensation with hyaluronic acid can also significantly improve connected facial contours such as the cheek and chin area.
Which wrinkles can be treated with hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid has many uses in wrinkle treatment. It can be used to successfully treat both small fine lines and deeper wrinkles. The results of wrinkle injections are immediately visible and contribute to a natural appearance without scarring. As this is a non-surgical method of skin smoothing, there is no downtime for you afterwards.
One possible use of wrinkle injections with fillers is to reduce nasolabial folds. These wrinkles run from the wings of the nose to the corners of the mouth. The treatment immediately makes your facial expression appear much friendlier and fresher.
In addition, more strongly cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules can be used to gently and naturally reshape facial structures in three dimensions. For example, sunken cheeks or deep eye circles can be corrected, or a youthful and dynamic jawline and a well-proportioned chin can be created. The treatment also helps with wrinkles around the mouth and lips, horizontal forehead wrinkles, and rejuvenation of the back of the hands.
On the other hand, active wrinkles caused by facial muscle activity are less suitable for wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid. Active wrinkles are known as expression lines (vertical frown lines or laugh lines). These can be treated much more effectively with botulinum treatment. A combination of hyaluronic acid fillers and botulinum toxin is also possible and is a popular and promising concept for facial rejuvenation.

Liquid facelift: The holistic rejuvenation concept for your face in Duesseldorf
In addition to firm skin, round contours, high cheekbones, and full cheeks are characteristics of a fresh and youthful — looking face. A liquid facelift involves a complete treatment of the face.
We no longer focus solely on tightening the skin in individual areas, but rather sculpt the volume of the entire face. We refer to the appropriate treatment method for this as a liquid facelift a comprehensive facial rejuvenation thanks to the volume-enhancing power of hyaluronic acid. Our aim is to ensure that the achievable changes remain gentle and natural, without creating a puffy or “over-injected” look.
How much does hyaluronic acid injection cost?
The cost of this treatment depends on the amount of material used. The price for hyaluronic acid injections starts at € 390,- per milliliter.
You are welcome to arrange a one-on-one consultation appointment at our private clinic in Duesseldorf’s Medienhafen, where we will discuss your individual treatment options.
When will I see results after a filler injection, and how long will the results last?
Since hyaluronic acid fillers are used to build volume, the effect is immediately visible. Although the hyaluronic acid introduced will continue to bind some water over the next two weeks after treatment, this further improves the result. In addition, the elastic connective tissue is strengthened over the next few months and collagen fibers are rejuvenated through remodeling processes. This results in an increase in skin elasticity.
Is there anything I can do myself to maintain the results for as long as possible?
The skin and subcutaneous tissue thrive on moisture, blood circulation, and healthy nutrients. We therefore recommend drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, and eating a healthy diet. Sun exposure causes lasting damage to the skin, so adequate sun protection should be part of your daily routine.
What is the procedure and aftercare for wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid?
The treatment begins with the application of a mild anesthetic cream to the area to be treated, if desired. After a short application time, this area is then carefully disinfected. The duration of the treatment varies between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the extent of the procedure.
Depending on the treatment goal, the filler is injected into deeper or more superficial layers of the skin. For optimal results, it is sometimes advisable to inject the filler into different layers of the skin. To prevent possible swelling, we recommend cooling the treated area. Initial results are visible immediately after treatment, but usually improve further during the first one to two weeks.
How long do the results of hyaluronic acid injections last?
Hyaluronic acid is slowly and completely broken down by the body. The duration of the results depends on which areas of the face were treated with the filler and how deeply it was injected. On average, the results can be expected to last between 4 and 9 months. Sometimes the effect can even last up to a year or longer.
What are the risks and side effects of hyaluronic acid injections?
This treatment is considered a very low-risk and gentle method of facial rejuvenation. The substance used is biosynthetically produced and is almost identical to the body’s own hyaluronic acid, which is why the preparation is very well tolerated and only rarely causes allergic reactions.
After the treatment, slight redness or bruising may occur, but this can be easily covered with makeup.
Hyaluronic acid is biodegradable, which is particularly important as it prevents long-term reactions such as foreign body reactions. If unwanted reactions occur, the hyaluronic acid can also be dissolved again, which is not possible with permanent fillers.
We will, of course, explain the possible risks and complications to you in detail during a consultation.
How much downtime should I expect?
There is no downtime after wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid. Any redness or bruising will disappear after a few days. Until then, it can be easily concealed with makeup.
What fillers do we use in our clinic?
We only use fillers that are completely broken down by the body.
JUVEDERM®: Dermal filler for the face, lips, and skin quality
We use fillers from the renowned company Allergan for wrinkle injections. The manufacturer Allergan has FDA approval in the USA for Juvéderm products, which requires medical studies to prove skin compatibility and effectiveness. As the products we use cover the full spectrum of different cross-linking degrees of hyaluronic acid molecules, we can cater to your wishes and ideas in a highly individualized and targeted manner. In the extremely rare event that the injected hyaluronic acid needs to be dissolved, this can be easily accomplished with the help of a special enzyme (Hylase) that is injected.
RADIESSE®
Radiessee® is a filler gel consisting of calcium hydroxylapatite particles that immediately improves skin volume. Over time, the gel is completely broken down by the body, while simultaneously promoting the body’s own collagen production. Collagen is responsible for the elasticity and tone of the skin. The facial contours are thus improved in the long term, even after the substance has been broken down. Patients appreciate the natural treatment results and the soft and delicate feel of their skin. As with hyaluronic acid, aftercare is usually only necessary after one to two years. Unlike hyaluronic acid, RADIESSE® cannot be dissolved using an enzyme.
