Facelift and neck lift
Look as young as you feel!
Our face should be an expression of our personality. Even if we feel young and energetic inside, the signs of aging and life circumstances can affect the vitality and youthfulness of our facial expressions. This can be caused by daily environmental influences (e.g., UV exposure from the sun), our lifestyle (smoking, unhealthy eating habits), or too much stress. Lifelong activity of natural facial expressions, together with the natural aging processes of the skin and connective tissue, also cause the skin to slowly lose its elasticity. The fatty tissue, which is plump and voluminous in youth, slackens, sinks, or partially disappears with age. The result is a tired, worn-out appearance, even if we feel youthful and energetic.
Thanks to modern plastic surgery, it is possible to rejuvenate your face and neck area with a modern and gentle face and neck lift. This involves tightening the skin on both your face and neck, lifting sagging fat and connective tissue, and subtly sculpting your face in three dimensions without permanently altering or even losing your individual facial expression. We place great importance on achieving a natural result so that your individual facial features remain unchanged. Your face will retain its natural appearance!

The aging process of our face
Over time, gravity and the decreasing elasticity of the skin on the face and neck have an unfavorable effect on our facial contours. Wrinkles around the mouth and nose (also known as nasolabial folds), on the forehead, and around the eyes and cheeks become more pronounced, causing the facial features to lose their youthful elasticity. Other characteristics of facial aging include drooping eyebrows at the sides, sagging upper eyelids, and the formation of bags under the lower eyelids.
As time goes on, the connective and fatty tissue in the midface and cheekbones slackens and succumbs to gravity, causing the cheeks to sag and resulting in the typical “jowls.” The contours of the lower jaw lose their firmness, creating a “double chin.” In addition, the muscles in the neck slacken, resulting in longitudinal skin folds on the neck and under the chin, unattractively referred to as a “turkey neck.”
Many people affected by these signs of aging find them disturbing and therefore desire a long-term improvement.
We take the time to address your questions, requests, and concerns, and provide you with transparent information about opportunities, risks, and possible complications.

With the modern facelift method we favor, the hairline scars are placed inconspicuously along the base of the ear, i.e., on the front and back of the ear. Since the scars run along the natural transition to the hairline and along natural anatomical structures such as the base of the ear, they are almost invisible later on.
The fat and connective tissue are carefully tightened and reshaped using targeted suture techniques, restoring the youthful, full volume of the cheek area and midface. In addition, sagging neck muscles are tightened and excess fat tissue on the chin is gently reduced.
A facelift can be combined with other procedures such as autologous fat transfer or hyaluronic acid wrinkle injections, a medical deep peel (phenol peel), a temple or forehead lift, or an upper and lower eyelid lift.
A single facelift takes about three hours and is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with twilight sedation. If desired, general anesthesia and a one to two day inpatient stay are also possible. The stitches are removed two weeks after the facelift.
When is a facelift advisable?
A facelift is always recommended when sagging areas of the face or loose skin on the face and neck need to be permanently restored to their former position. There are many reasons for undergoing this treatment. The desire for a youthful and vibrant face is the primary motivation for those affected.
We would be happy to discuss whether a complete facelift or just a mini-lift, for example in the form of an isolated forehead lift, a temple lift, or a cheek lift, is suitable for you to restore your youthful appearance during an initial consultation at our clinic.
At what age does a facelift make sense?
Depending on the condition of the skin and soft tissues of the face, we recommend a facelift only from middle age onwards (approx. from the age of 40). Good health is essential for this surgery.
Up to the age of 40, the use of hyaluronic acid in combination with skin tightening procedures such as Ultherapy and FaceTite™ is a very effective way to rejuvenate the facial skin and restore youthful volume.
How long does a facelift last?
A facelift gives you the opportunity to smooth out wrinkles and rejuvenate your face in the long term. Depending on your individual circumstances and the method used, a facelift lasts between five and fifteen years.
How much does a facelift cost?
Our prices for a facelift start at around € 9,000. Since the scope of this procedure is very individual and depends on your personal wishes, we will be happy to discuss the exact costs with you in a one-on-one consultation at our private clinic in Duesseldorf. The costs for a facelift will be determined after a detailed consultation.
How long will I be unable to work after the procedure?
Since swelling and bruising always occur after a facelift, it is advisable to allow two weeks for recovery and healing, if possible. You should avoid physical activities such as sports and sauna visits for six weeks. Numbness and tension in the skin, especially in the front of the ear, are temporary and normal after this procedure and usually disappear on their own after a few days to weeks.
What risks should I expect?
When performed by a highly experienced and qualified plastic and aesthetic surgeon, a facelift is a very safe surgical procedure that rarely leads to complications. Nevertheless, there are potential risks in the form of bleeding, infection, nerve damage, scarring, and wound healing disorders, which we will explain to you in detail during a comprehensive consultation.
We will answer your questions in detail during a non-binding initial consultation.
